The artist, Keith Drury and his ‘artobiography’ style has been featured on BBC TV and in the Observer and Guardian newspapers as well as being selected as the BBC’s ‘Big Picture’ online.
The pictures above were painted of Ann Youd from Liverpool, who were married in Italy. While the painting is only of the bride on this occasion, all the words below the face were sent to us by the groom. They include a love letter he wrote to her on the night of their engagement, her birth certificate, the lyrics of her favourite song and a scribbled note from hotel reception, when they suggested a good place to propose. We added to that, origins on her name, her Mother’s maiden name and the name she was about to adopt. We also added some information about where she came from and arranged for a family member to write a welcome note into her new family, written personally into the canvas before it was sealed and over painted.
Not one of our Brides! But we thought you might recognise him! A commission for the ‘Presidents’ club’

Debs on her wedding day. The picture includes a lot of cuttings from her life story. Some are love letters, some are her writings and sayings. They also include photocopies of her writing as a child, some from her later school days and some newspaper cuttings about her. We were also able to include some items from her wedding day, like the wedding invitation and table decorations. We also included copies of a 150 year old Jane Eyre book she fondly owns and enjoys - one of her favourite books. We also copied special cards sent to her from her husband and a copy of the first book she owned as a child, among other things.
